Winnipeg, Manitoba

Manitobans officially welcome Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the first official passengers to arrive at the new terminal of the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

The Queen unveils a statue created by the late Manitoban artist Leo Mol at Government House – the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba.

At the site of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, The Queen expresses her support for global education and discussion on human rights by dedicating the cornertone – stone from Runnymede, the site of the 1215 signing of the Magna Carta – for this national museum. Afterwards, The Queen speaks at the Manitoba Homecoming Canadian Concert for Human Rights at The Forks.
